I started a 100 birds project in 2020 to document birds that visit my local birding patch, a tiny forest preserve within Chicago, as well as highlight the volunteer restoration efforts there which focus on providing habitat for native birds. Most of my 100 birds are digital illustrations created in Procreate. Check out this page to see all the birds I’ve completed so far.
Photography
When I began photographing birds in 2016, my objective was primarily to document which birds I saw while out birding. While that remains one of my objectives, I now really love capturing shots of birds engaged in interesting behaviors, eating, or surrounded by native plants. I sometimes take pictures of mammals, insects, and plants as well.
